Breakfast like a king or queen in our most impressive breakfast

05 Apr 2019

For those that live by the motto ‘breakfast like a king,’ there are few more august places to do so than in Red Carnation Hotels’ luxurious breakfast rooms. From the banqueting hall of a castle to a terrace overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, our finest breakfast rooms combine stunning surrounds with delicious morning menus.

George V Dining Room

Indulge in a traditional Irish breakfast in the grand George V Dining Room at Ashford Castle. Named after the Prince of Wales, who visited and dined here in 1905, the breakfast menu offers locally sourced, cooked breakfast staples alongside lighter options and decadent offerings including whole cooked ham, a porridge station with whiskey, a side of smoked salmon carved at the table and scrambled eggs topped with truffles.

Azure Restaurant

In Cape Town, start the day overlooking the crashing waves at The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa’s Azure Restaurant. Breakfast is enjoyed al fresco on the ocean-facing terrace, where the only issue you’ll have is what to choose from the extensive buffet. Locally smoked salmon and trout, charcuterie, fresh oysters, a cheese board and tempting viennoiserie are all on offer alongside a cooked breakfast, with diners invited to accompany their meal with a glass of sparkling Cap Classique, served chilled on its own or with freshly squeezed orange juice.

The English Grill

The English Grill at The Rubens at the Palace is just moments from Buckingham Palace in London. Before setting out to explore the Royal Mews, sit down to a sumptuous breakfast beneath glittering chandeliers. With its emphasis on seasonal English produce, the restaurant also offers vegan options. Plant-based dishes include coconut kombucha Bircher muesli and rice milk pancakes served with berries and maple syrup. Meanwhile, carnivores can tuck into a Josper-grilled sirloin steak, served with bubble and squeak hash, a fried egg and mushroom ketchup.

Cheneston's Restaurant

The first meal of the day is an elegant affair in London’s Kensington, too, where breakfast is served at The Milestone Hotel & Residences’ Cheneston's Restaurant. Smart wood panelling, mahogany furnishings and Victorian leaded windows create a grand setting for the breakfast buffet and à la carte cooked English breakfast.

Windows Restaurant

Hotel d’Angleterre in Geneva is famous for its gastronomic weekend brunches but its breakfast service also impresses. Served in the chic Windows Restaurant, where diners have uninterrupted views of Lake Geneva and the Jet d’Eau, enjoy a broad array of fresh fruits, yogurts, juices and baked goods alongside hearty traditional breakfast staples to set you up for the day ahead.
