"As I reflect on my journey with Red Carnation Hotels - from my beginnings as a housekeeper through various leadership roles and as General Manager of The Egerton House Hotel - I am profoundly honoured to now lead our global sustainability efforts as Vice President of Sustainability.
Throughout my years with this remarkable organisation, I have witnessed firsthand how deeply sustainability is woven into our culture. What began as isolated initiatives has evolved into a comprehensive vision that touches every aspect of our operations. Our partnership with EarthCheck marks an exciting new chapter in this journey, providing us with a robust framework to measure our progress and hold ourselves accountable.
The pages that follow outline our commitment to environmental stewardship, community engagement, and responsible luxury. But beyond these words lies the true heart of our sustainability efforts: the passionate individuals across our properties who bring these principles to life every day. From our chefs creating innovative zero-waste dishes to our teams volunteering in local communities, it is their dedication that transforms ambition into impact.
Our path to sustainability is not without challenges, particularly as we work toward our net-zero emissions goal by 2050. Yet I am inspired by what we have already accomplished - reducing food waste by 42%, transitioning to renewable energy across most of our properties, and creating meaningful experiences that connect our guests with the natural world.
As we move forward, we remain committed to balancing exceptional luxury with environmental responsibility. I invite you to join us on this journey - whether as a guest, a team member, or a partner - as we work together to ensure that the beauty and wonder of our world endures for generations to come."
- Michelle Devlin, Vice President of Sustainability
