The bigger picture

How We Tread Right (HWTR) is TTC's five-year sustainability strategy, which guides the way we operate and the projects we support through The TreadRight Foundation. HWTR identifies the issues impacting the health of our world and presents eleven strategic goals that guide our sustainability initiatives at Red Carnation Hotels. This video summarises our focus areas, how the strategy is embedded into our business, and how this aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Climate

Climate change is directly linked to an increase in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the atmosphere resulting from human activity. It is all of our responsibility to reduce our emissions as much as possible, and support the transition to a low-carbon future.

Net zero

Through our sustainability strategy, we are striving to reach a status of net zero GHG emissions by 2050. We have implemented a series of near-term and long-term targets that are validated by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi), and centre our initiative on decarbonisation - the most effective method of addressing climate change.
