The Living Wall at The Rubens

Passionate leadership

Our sustainability efforts are meticulously orchestrated through a robust, multi-tiered governance structure. At the helm, our central steering committee is led by VP of Sustainability, Michelle Devlin, and Global Sustainability Project Manager, Scott Clinton. This strategic leadership is complemented by dedicated sustainability representatives at each property, creating a comprehensive approach to environmental and social responsibility.

Sustainability officers

Our property-level team includes four key roles: Sustainability Officers who coordinate cross-departmental efforts, EarthCheck Coordinators ensuring rigorous compliance, EarthCheck Data Managers guaranteeing precise data capture, and Food Sustainability Coordinators - our talented chefs who champion sustainable culinary practices through local sourcing, seasonal menus, and innovative waste reduction strategies.

EarthCheck partnership

In January 2025, we proudly launched our partnership with EarthCheck, a global leader in sustainability certification for the travel and tourism industry. Our goal is clear and ambitious: to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 through strategic, innovative actions that minimise our environmental footprint.

Collective action

We understand that sustainability is a collective endeavour. Our approach empowers our team, engages our guests, and collaborates with local communities to create meaningful, lasting change. From protecting biodiversity to supporting local economies, from reducing waste to redefining luxury with purpose, we are committed to demonstrating that exceptional hospitality and environmental responsibility can - and must - go hand in hand.
