Our charming 16th-century coaching inn transports you to the pages of a Thomas Hardy novel. Featured in Tess of the d’Urbervilles, our atmospheric inn boasts old beams, oak panelling, roaring fires and an original skittle alley. The beautiful rural setting in the heart of the Dorset countryside is complemented by our warm, attentive service and fine local cuisine..
We are delighted that our doors are open once more, and the Acorn team are looking forward to welcoming our guests back.
We continue to reduce most unnecessary single-use plastics within our hotels and we work with Winnow Solutions to reduce our food waste and measure and manage our energy use. We proudly work with Clean Conscience to recycle leftover toiletries, and stock Belu water throughout our hotels.
We work closely with The TreadRight Foundation and Wild Entrust Africa. Our sustainable initiatives are at the heart of everything we do, from sending organic waste to communities local to Xigera for their garden projects, to protecting a herd of Cape Mountain Zebras and ancient rock art sites, both at Bushmans Kloof.
We enjoy growing our own ingredients in the hotel kitchen gardens and caring for our hotel bees that make honey for our guests to enjoy at breakfast.
Chosen for the positive impact they have on the traveller and communities we explore, these are selected with great care to directly advance the United Nations Global Goals.Discover more
