Strategic investments

Our comprehensive approach to energy management is being enhanced through our collaboration with McGrady Clark, whose expert analysis has identified key opportunities for reducing consumption while maintaining the exceptional comfort our guests expect. In 2025, we will begin implementing advanced submetering systems throughout our London and Ireland properties - a strategic investment that will provide unprecedented granularity in understanding energy usage patterns. This precise measurement will enable targeted interventions in high-consumption areas and provide quantifiable validation of our efficiency initiatives.

Behavioural change

While technology plays a crucial role, we recognise that sustainable resource management equally depends on human behaviour. We have implemented a support framework to foster awareness and encourage conservation practices among our teams. This dual approach — combining technological solutions with behavioural change — creates a holistic strategy for meaningful reduction.

Renewable energy

Our commitment to renewable energy continues to advance, with all UK properties, as well as our hotels in Ireland and Geneva, now powered by 100% renewable sources. We are actively addressing the energy transition at our South African properties, with strategic plans to reduce dependence on non-renewable energy. Xigera Safari Lodge in Botswana stands as our beacon of energy innovation, operating with its own Tesla energy centre and solar farm - a testament to how luxury and sustainability can harmoniously coexist in even the most remote locations.

Water conservation

Water conservation efforts currently focus on behavioural initiatives, complemented by the installation of flow restrictors in refurbished bathrooms. As with our energy strategy, we are developing a comprehensive approach that combines precise measurement with targeted technological interventions and team engagement.
